Year: Sophomore
Major: Accountancy & Finance
College: Business (BUS)

One-on-One

What are your favorite places to study, hang out, and relax?
I study in my room, hang out at my friends’ apartments, and relax by jogging around campus and eating out at restaurants.

What clubs or organizations on campus are you involved with?
I’m a member of Phi Chi Theta businesses fraternity. I am also involved in the Ciber Certificate program conducting research related to international business and volunteer projects through VIP. I have also participated in the Illinois Leadership Program.

Why and how did you choose your major?
Finance has been something I’ve been interested in since I was a child. My father introduced me to the stock market at a very young age and ever since then I’ve wanted to work in the financial field.

Describe your most memorable experience at Illinois.
My first day on campus when everything was so new and different for me was definitely an experience I won’t forget. I was just impressed and amazed with the campus and what there was left for me to discover.

What is your advice to prospective students?
Keep an open mind. Use the campus as your laboratory. Figure out what you want to do and learn and just dive in.
