One-on-One
What are your favorite places to study, hang out, and relax?
I love to study with my friends in our residence hall floor lounge. To hang out and relax, we usually just bum around in one of our dorm rooms.
What clubs or organizations on campus are you involved with?
I’m a member of the Precision Flying Team, which is a competitive flying team that travels nationwide to compete against other schools. We compete in various events including landing, navigation, and flight simulation.
Why and how did you choose your major?
While in middle school, I took a free airplane ride at my local airport. Once I got into the air I knew that flying was something I could and would want to do for the rest of my life.
Describe your most memorable experience at Illinois.
My most memorable experience at Illinois is going to Nashville, Tennessee with the Precision Flying Team. We spent five days competing in a regional flight team competition. During the event, I competed against other Midwestern flight schools, spoke with pilots from across the country, and had a great time.
What is your advice to prospective students?
Don't be scared by the size of Illinois. There are many students on campus, but the campus seems o get smaller and smaller with the more time you spend in Champaign-Urbana. I can’t walk across the Quad without seeing someone I know.
