Major: Kinesiology
College: Applied Health Science (AHS)
One-on-One
What are your favorite places to study, hang out, and relax?
I like to study at Grainger Library or at my apartment. After class, it’s always nice to hang out at the Illini Union or at Café Paradiso.
What clubs or organizations on campus are you involved with?
I serve as the alumni chair of the college of Applied Health Sciences’ Student Council, which helps to organize events such as homecoming, career night, alumni night, Mom’s Day Brunch, and the AHS Fall Welcome. The Council also serves as a liaison between students and faculty members throughout the year.
I am a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, an honor society that promotes academic excellence and organizes community service events.
I am also involved with the University of Illinois Foundation, which engages with alumni and encourages their continued involvement with the University through charitable donations.
Why and how did you choose your major?
Originally, I was a dance major, but an injury prompted me to re-evaluate my career goals. I decided that I wanted to help others with sports-related injuries, so I found my major Kinesiology to fit in perfectly with my new future goal.
Describe your most memorable experience at Illinois.
I remember my freshmen move-in day so clearly. I was so overwhelmed with excitement as I unloaded my boxes at the curb of LAR.
What is your advice to prospective students?
Don't be afraid to try something new! And definitely get involved as much as you can as soon as you can.
