Admissions Selectivity

Understanding the level of admissions selectivity will help you gage the caliber of each institution and the qualifications of fellow classmates. If you're serious about your education, strive to challenge your own mental and academic limits, and want to increase your knowledge level, it's important to choose an institution that matches those personal goals.

The Illinois Advantage

With nearly 60% of the 2006 freshman class ranked in the top 10% of their high school class, the University of Illinois has a competitive admissions selection process. From 2002 to 2006, Illinois admitted an average of 66.2% of all applicants. It's best to spend your high school career preparing in- and outside of the classroom. Therefore, you'll be able to submit an impressive application. But it also means that you'll be ready to meet the challenges you'll find at Illinois while learning with peers who are at your same level.
